Life in the kitchen lately includes introducing new foods to the most open-minded baby I've ever come across and a seven year old who suddenly refers to foods as "bitter" and "gritty" and complains about specific "textures." She's testing us and that's okay. Hey, if we could, we would eat all the junk all the time too.  And also, it's developmentally appropriate-- kids will test limits and see what they can get away with. I can't blame her for trying. We're standing firm with the healthy foods first though, and continuing to switch it up with new and old favorites. But some days we do fries, because well, we're human, and also, fries are delicious.

It's been a while since I shared these here. See pt. 1 HERE.

I intend to include some of Adler's eats soon. He literally is the BEST eater there ever was. And I find that this time around with Baby #2, I'm introducing him to so much more than I did with Logan.

If baby eats are your type of thing, stay tunned!

Back-to-School with Goldfish Crackers

Sponsored Post: This post is sponsored by the Goldfish brand but the content and opinions expressed here are my own.

One of my absolute favorite things about being a mom is watching my children grow up loving some of the same things that once brought me a similar joy as a child. One of those things we're experiencing right now is back-to-school shopping. I still vividly remember the excitement that came each year, from kindergarten all the way into college-- those mid-summer trips to the store to get little bits here and there to fill my hip and stylish new backpack. Some of my favorite scents come from the stationary aisle: the smell of a brand new composition book, a fresh box of crayons, those faux leather zip pencil pouches. All the feels!

Now I get to live it all over again through my babes, and Logan is proving once again to be much like her mama. In the store with her little list checking things off as we put them in our cart. She picked out a new backpack and has been in back-to-school mode since. We added some favorites snacks to our list, Goldfish® being one of them.  Some for then and some for now.

She has already placed some Goldfish® bags in with her school stuff. Goldfish® crackers have always been her afternoon go to snack when she gets home from school. If you are looking for a simple, fun, and classic snack for your kids., Goldfish® crackers are the way to go. I like the snack bag size because they are pre-portioned, and our little miss tends to over indulge in snacks. She's already looking forward to chowing down on them after school,  and I'm pretty sure she's conspiring to use her new bag to transport them when we go to the beach.

If you're looking for other ways to get ready for the school year with Goldfish, check out their social media channels below.

Though it's still summer, we are doing a lot of talking about the upcoming new school year. I printed out this little selfie sheet that I found on Pinterest and we worked on that this afternoon. It was fun listening to her debate what she would pen in as her favorite.

And of course we had to pour ourselves a little bowl of Goldfish® to snack on, because thinking is hard work. ;  )

first beach day of the season

We waited out the storm and drove towards the coast to sun, salt, and sand. It turned out to be such a beautiful day. We even got on the beach without paying because of the unpredictable weather earlier in the day, the beach was free. Logan initially requested we go to a different beach, because our last time there, as high tide came in; a little pool formed on the beach. It was one of our favorite beach days to date-- see here. It ended up working out that we got lucky with one again. Literally, right in front of our blanket the beach filled with water and we had a little pool, made just for us. Logan's day was made, completely and totally. We looked up and down the beach and nowhere else was there one. I kind of feel it was meant to be-- you know that feeling, when you feel like you are right where you are meant to be in that moment?  We thanked our angels in heaven and ended our day just feeling really good. Looking forward to many more days like it.
