philadelphia || christmas village at love park

Christmas Village at Love Park in Philadelphia and Dilworth park-- quite possibly our favorite December adventures to date and definitely a new yearly tradition. We went this weekend! It’s been on our list for years and we finally made it and my only regret was waiting so long to do so! If you haven’t been yet, add it to your holiday season to do list immediately!

This year, visiting the city was top of our list. We were in search of an outdoor ice rink. We were watching a holiday movie where people were ice skating outdoors when Logan stated how cool it would be if they had those types of ice rinks in real life too. We informed her they do in fact! From that point on, she wanted nothing more than to live out her Christmas Hallmark Movie dream; so we made it happen. We drove into the city for some ice skating, shopping, and all the festive activities.  The Rothman Rink at Dilworth Park did not disappoint, and our little Candace Cameron Bure was in her glory. We all were really!

We ate warm raclette cheese sandwiches from Baked Cheese Haus and stopped by the Santa stand smack dab in the center of the village for photos with the most realistic Santa we ever did see. I’m not certain, but he might be the real deal!

We bought the biggest bag of cotton candy we ever saw from a tiny but mighty candy shop. We danced to Christmas tunes and we picked the perfect set of authentic hand painted nesting dolls from the most beautiful collection. We rode an adorable little carousel surrounded by towering buildings. We walked through crowds and rather than feeling overwhelmed, we felt connected. There is something so beautiful about this time of year and this place captures it so well.

It was a fulfilling day all around. Smiles for all. Sights. Sounds. Smells. It was a very chill vibe amid the hustle and bustle of the season and just a wonderful experience overall. It was one of those days where as parents, you just feel like, yeah, we're doing it right.

If you are looking for something to do in Philadelphia this holiday season-- we totally recommend going to Christmas Village and Dilworth Park.

We can't wait to go back next year!

twenty eighteen || spring into summer into fall

Naps in mommy's + daddy's bed, fresh fruit smoothies, swimming, and twinning.
Playdates, and cuddles, and pool hangs with cousins.
Stone skipping, and ice cream cones, and lots of time outside.
Twenty-eighteen was good one.
