          "A portrait of my child, once a week, every week, in 2013"

Logan: My little explorer. You wore those homemade binoculars the entire day and with them you saw as much from ants on stones to pine trees being cut down. The day was breezy, the sun was bright, and you were dirt covered and happy as can be.

We love this little town-- our go-to spot for feeding the ducks [and sometimes geese and seagulls too] on the river. The drive here is gorgeous and the town itself is beautiful with plenty of things to do and see. Naturally, Logan was fists full with twigs and sticks. She even got to observe stalk a little duck up close and personal. Unfortunately, he was not as fond of her as she was of him. Their follow-the-leader game was short lived when he decided it wasn't his thing and took off into the water. Haha, poor Lo. She took the rejection well, though. ;]

Logan: Little latte lover-- looking more college ready than preschool.

Some favorites from last week include lovely little black and white Logan, a woodsy girl explorer, Josephine and sweet little Eulalie who I only hope is feeling much better by now.

legit flower card: nature in the home

Today, we made a flower card-- with actual hand picked flowers, and boy did it turn out even better than I had envisioned.

Materials: Paper, envelope, tape for decorating, and fresh flowers. 

Our "decorating" didn't consist of much, in attempts to keep the flowers as the main focus. Such great colors, mission accomplished. 

Logan's Grammy was the lucky recipient of this here beaut. Here is the inside of the card, drawn by Lo herself. I'm especially proud of the hair, though I think it was purely coincidental that it turned out to actually look like Grammy's hair.

But then some days she loves it! Then there are days when she struggles between love and hate-- this day being a perfect example [as pictured.] 

Overall, Logan seems to really enjoy the sport itself. But it seems she would rather be on a team of one-- with no coach preferably. Right now she is coincidentally on an all boys team with a male coach. Next week we are going to try her on the girls team. I don't know if it will make a difference, but we're hoping so. Fingers crossed.

mayhem at midnight

It's midnight and you are wide awake, and in mama's and daddy's bed. You are not sick, you are not hungry, you are not sad. But boy are you pretty. Too old for a pacifier, but too young to care. I secretly love that about you, my big baby. But please, please, pretty please, go to sleep.
