sweet, sweet, summer time

This summer was soooo good to us--beach trips and pizza and summer camp and the fair and fish won and endless pool days and days spent in the backyard and friendship bracelets and bubbles and playdates and staying up past bedtime and messy hair and sun-kissed skin and naps on the couch and fresh fruit picking and sweet treats and lattes (hot and cold) and sunsets and and and....

everything's sweeter by the sea

There is snow on the ground and I'm sitting here dreaming of beach days and swimming in the pool.

first beach day of the season

We waited out the storm and drove towards the coast to sun, salt, and sand. It turned out to be such a beautiful day. We even got on the beach without paying because of the unpredictable weather earlier in the day, the beach was free. Logan initially requested we go to a different beach, because our last time there, as high tide came in; a little pool formed on the beach. It was one of our favorite beach days to date-- see here. It ended up working out that we got lucky with one again. Literally, right in front of our blanket the beach filled with water and we had a little pool, made just for us. Logan's day was made, completely and totally. We looked up and down the beach and nowhere else was there one. I kind of feel it was meant to be-- you know that feeling, when you feel like you are right where you are meant to be in that moment?  We thanked our angels in heaven and ended our day just feeling really good. Looking forward to many more days like it.

cloudy night on the beach

This trip was impromptu. We battled traffic the whole way there simply because we didn't take time into consideration.  We didn't mind all that much though. We had a CD book full of all of our favorites we used to listen to when we first started dating.

The water was warmer than the air. We didn't really intend on getting wet, but the ocean had other plans. Hello high tide. The sky was full of clouds, but it was still so very beautiful.

We collected shells-- one being a crab's shell. The last time Logan held a crab, it began to move in her hand. That photo above may have took some convincing.

We ate pizza and ice cream and left with full tummies.
Another successful beach trip.
